SandBox

my friend and colleague has featured us on her blog
sandbox
here is a link
http://words-in-sand.blogspot.com/2006/12/action-at-paul-and-barnys.html

this blog registers quite high up the google tree for visibility
and it means that if anyone puts paul and barny's into google this link to our work will likely be quite high up the list if not at the top.

it also means we are doing the work we got grants for - rasing awareness of the problem of human trafficking and the need for a solution.

Paul and Barny's website trial

Hi
I have created a website at freewebs

http://www.freewebs.com/paulandbarny/index.htm

as a way of simplifying the promotion of this programme
after all this blog is a record and a diary but not really a marketing tool.

Let me know what you think...

How do members of P&B and traffikstop team members post here?

We have to manage the way information is posted here and comments made owing to problems with unsavoury posting by automated web robots.
So, I have sent invitations to P&B folk and TraffikStop team to post here.
If you haven't yet recieved an invite and you want to post please email me at colindarling@freenet.co.uk

Channel Five!

Colin approached Five News having seen a community news item on their broadcast.
They are very interested in us doing ten minutes of footage that can be edited down to 3 minutes for broadcast as part of their community news service. It would also go on the web.

Five News

Riccardo Boleto from the Channel Five team said that they want to profile human trafficking but getting stories was difficult. Our activity could be a way of highlighting the issues in a good way.

Lynn Todd will take this element of the project assisting the young people to make the video.
It is likely to be done in January or February for showing in time to profile our March performance programme.

Nov 29th meeting

Karen, Dan, Colin and Anita from CMS met at P&B's to discuss the Free For All programme as an awareness raising promotion to begin to create an audience for the later programmes and to gain experience in putting on events.

Free For All is a way of exploring the historical background to slavery and the end of slavery. It ends by pointing forward to the current slave trade and human trafficking.

re Saturday 6th January - Free4All

Paul and Barny's are launching an awareness programme about human trafficking.

It will happen between January and the end of March 2006. Many of the events will be led by or have been created by the young people of Paul and Barny's.

We will start with a launch event on Saturday January 6th at Christ Church Quinton.

The Big InTent Theatre Company and CMS will provide professional actors and local people will also be involved as trainers, actors and participants.

The aim of the day is to mark the anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade through free 4 all, a theatre-workshop project. This will give children and adults the opportunity to explore what freedom means today, as well as its importance for the future of our world. You can find out more about Big InTent at http://www.bigintent.com/
